40x60 Shop Build Truss Day in Des Moines

There's a certain point in any build where it stops looking like a job site and starts looking like a real structure. Truss day is that moment. On this 40x60 shop build on the south side of Des Moines, getting the trusses set was a big milestone - and one that doesn't happen without the right crew and equipment in place.

We brought in Vennstra Construction to assist with the crane work, and that kind of collaboration matters more than people realize. Setting trusses on a build this size isn't something you rush or wing. You need precise lifts, experienced hands positioning each piece, and a team that communicates well on the ground and up top. That's exactly what this day looked like.

The framing is clean, the interior wall layout is already taking shape, and the roof structure is going up exactly as planned. A 40x60 footprint gives you serious usable space - whether that's for a personal shop, equipment storage, or a working workspace. Getting the bones right at this stage sets up everything that comes after, including the roof installation.

Speaking of which - a build like this needs a roof that can handle Iowa weather long-term. That's something we take seriously on every new construction project we're part of. From the framing phase all the way through final roofing, we stay dialed in on quality at every step.

Teamwork keeps a job moving safely and on schedule. That's not just something we say - it's how we operate on every single build we take on.
